Class Teachers: Miss J Coulam
Class Teacher: Miss I Hamilton
Welcome to our Reception Classes
In Reception, you will find two classes, Wagtails and Goldcrests. Although we are two classes we love to learn and play as one! Every lesson in Reception is creative and interactive. There is plenty of time for children to think, explore, discover, question, and wonder.
My name is Miss Coulam and I am the teacher of Goldcrests class. I enjoy teaching children of all different ages and teaching many different subjects. My favourite subjects are Phonics and Art. Although I have many jobs within the school my favourite is being EYFS lead. This means I get to watch the children learn, laugh and explore from Nursery into year 1.
Goldcrests and Wagtails have their PE day on a Tuesday. Please ensure that your child has the correct PE Kit, which can be found on our Uniform Page.
Reception email address: firstname.lastname@example.org
To ensure that you can communicate with your child’s class teacher, we have created year-group email addresses. This email address is monitored daily Monday-Friday, with an aim to respond within 24 hours. When sending an email please include your child’s name in the subject line.
If you have any urgent information/communication please telephone or email the school office, as the administrative team can pass any urgent messages to the class teacher.
Our Aims at EYFS
No matter the pupil’s background or starting point, we strive to ensure that they finish Year R with the all skills and knowledge necessary to succeed.
Our timetable can be downloaded below. Here, parents and pupils have the opportunity to view the class schedule to see the day-to-day routine including the range of curriculum that is covered. We have found that children with SEND have responded well to visually seeing the structure of the day ahead.
At Holy Trinity C of E Nursery and Primary School, we utilise the Cornerstones scheme of work. Parents will receive a Curriculum Booklet and Knowledge Organiser at the start of each term informing them about what the children will be learning. This will also be available below to download.
More Infomation about the subjects can be found on our curriculum pages.

Phonics and Mathematics homework as well as reading books are due back in school every Thursday. These are then changed and given back out on a Friday.
Unfortunately, due to the Importance of reading books, if they are lost or damaged a £5 fine will be enforced.
