Leadership in Nurture

Leadership in Nurture

A further strength of Holy Trinity lies in the leadership that has shaped and sustained its nurturing culture. The Headteacher, Mr Jones, provides a clear vision, ensuring nurture is woven into all aspects of school life, while Miss Rootsey has played a pivotal role in modeling and embedding consistent practice.
Staff recognise how this leadership has transformed their work: “It became ingrained in everything we do, not just something we talked about in training.” Another member of staff noted, “Having someone leading on nurture who is part of everyday school life makes it real for everyone else.”
Parents also acknowledge the difference this leadership has made to their children’s experiences. One parent reflected, “When we started school here, he had a tremendous amount of support… they went slowly so he could forget the trauma of the other school.” Another added, “It feels like the whole staff know what to do.”
Pupils too highlight the way leadership shapes their daily experience of school, explaining, “Teachers think about what will help us and try things out,” and “You can always tell Mrs Watts, she works with children who are having a hard time.”
Through this combination of strategic direction and everyday modeling, leadership has embedded nurture as a defining feature of the school’s ethos, creating a consistent culture where every child is understood, supported, and encouraged to thrive.
