Year 4 Bhangra Dance

This week Year 4 children learnt how to Bhangra Dance.

Bhangra dancing is a type of traditional folk dance of Punjab, originating in the Sialkot area of Punjab. It is done in the season of harvesting. Bhangra is especially associated with the vernal Vaisakhi festival.

A range of movement patterns were used to create the dance with children interpreting how they should move in response to the music. The children were asked to describe specific elements of their own performance saying what went well and what could be improved.

The children had a fantastic time and cannot wait to learn more.
