Pupil Premium

From April 2015, nurseries, schools, child-minders and other registered childcare providers are able to claim extra funding through the Early Years Pupil Premium to support children’s development, learning and care.

We are free to use the extra funding in ways which improve the quality of the early years educational experience for your child. We also use part of the funding to support our staff's knowledge and expertise in early language development and strategies for developing pupils' speech and language acquisition.

Your child may be eligible for free school meals.  Please follow the link below to see if you qualify:  https://www.gov.uk/apply-free-school-meals

Alternatively, you can download and fill out the form below and hand it into the school's office.

Background to Pupil Premium Funding

The pupil premium is a government initiative which targets extra money at pupils from deprived backgrounds. Unfortunately many pupils from disadvantaged backgrounds do not perform well academically and this fund is aimed at improving outcomes and narrowing the academic gaps.

The following are indicators of deprivation:

  • Pupils entitled to free school meals (FSM)
  • Children in social care
  • Children from service families

Our Approach

The Pupil Premium Funding is used to benefit eligible pupils of all abilities. Our clearly established lines of accountability ensure the funding is used to fill academic gaps, provide appropriate support and accelerate progress.

We ensure:

  • Spending is directly linked to gaps in attainment
  • Data is used to plan and deliver relevant interventions
  • Interventions re regularly reviewed and amended

Pupil Premium Spending and Impact

The documents below outline our expenditure plan as well as the review of the impact the funds have had.
