Prime number perfection

Last Friday, Year 5 spent the day investigating prime numbers; making use of our number link cubes. Afterwards, we looked at a famous mathematician who worked with prime numbers. Finally, ending the day by looking at architecture.

Primes:

We investigated all the numbers from 1-100 that were prime using our manipulative blocks to support our learning. We even had some of our parents come in and help out!

Sophie Germain:

After our investigation, we took a look at the famous mathematician named Sophie Germain and we made some information sheets. Take a look:

A fantastic day of information gathering, make sure you ask our new prime number aficionados about their knowledge.

Question of the week: Can a prime number ever be too large?
