Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Kent Summer Reading Challenge

Kent Libraries' Summer Reading Challenge 2021 – Wild World Heroes, launched on Saturday 10 July. It runs in libraries over the summer holidays and this year is a celebration of nature and positive action for the environment.

The challenge is running from Saturday 10 July until Saturday 11 September, and aims to introduce families to their library, encourage children to choose books freely and independently and addresses the “dip” in children's reading that can occur over the summer holidays if they haven't had regular access to books and encouragement to read for pleasure.

This year, Kent Libraries have introduced some new elements such as choosing to take part either by visiting their local library or online.

  • The school’s Christian values of love, honesty and respect are well expressed through its caring atmosphere. This impacts positively on the strong sense of belonging and supporting relationships evident across the school.
