Should we still use Roman Numerals?

in Year 4 we learnt the Roman number system. They use letters to represent numbers. 

We looked at clocks which have Roman Numerals.

We learnt that I means 1, V is 5.

VI is 6 (the one after V) and 4 is VI (the one before 5).

If a film was made in MM, what year was it made?

Miss Baker was born in MCMLXXIV - can you write the year in the comments?

Not many people realise we use a number system from India that is based on Arabic numbers.
