Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Sports Day Teamwork

On Wednesday it was Sports Day. Unfortunately because of the weather, it had to be inside, however, as you can see from the pictures the children had a really fantastic time and thoroughly enjoyed themselves.  As you can see the children sat in their teams and listened patiently to the instructions.

They waited before starting their activity.

They had six activities to join in with in their teams. There was a skipping activity which most of the children found challenging but persevered and, we even had some smiles as they were learning how to do this successfully watching the adults showing them how to do it.

Another activity was balancing a bean bag on a tennis racquet. I think they did very well in this one.Have a look at our photographs, what do you think?

It was such a fun day the children joined in well and cheered their teams on to encourage them. Next it was speed stacking, the concentration that was needed really shows as these children complete the task.

In both classes the children concentrated hard and tried their very best. Here are some more photographs of running between cones, dribbling a football and throwing bean bags into hoops getting further away each time.

These children did amazingly well and showed us how well they can work in a team and support their friends. It was a great day and I think you can see that from their photographs. A wonderful end to their Year 1 experience.
