Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

We are all different but the same

This week Reception celebrated: “Refugee week.” Children learnt what a refugee is, and then they made a packing list with the most important things that a refugee needs to take when they leave their country.

In Literacy, children drew the most important things that refugees needs to have, then they wrote down a list.

“A refugee is a person with no home.”

“The refugees are sad.”

During Wonderful Wednesday as an art activity children made a refugee paper chain.

“We are all the same level, but we are different.”

In Mathematics this week children learnt about money, and they learnt  that money is used to buy things. As a focus activity children had to match the number with the correct coin. Independently children cut out the coins pictures, and then matched with the correct number.

“We need money to buy toys.”
