Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

One a penny... Two a penny... Hot cross buns!

What a fantastic week we have had in Reception this week! We have been doing lots of exciting learning in the class. During Religious Education we were learning about what Christians do on Good Friday. We eat hot cross buns on Good Friday and during Easter.

Have you eaten them before?

We eat hot cross buns at this time as it reminds us of Jesus and that he died on the cross.

We also enjoyed some hot cross buns along with our friends in the class!

"They are so yummy."

"I like the raisins."

"The top of it is sticky."

"The hot cross bun is the shape of the stone that covered the tomb."

"It is delicious."

We then also created some hot cross buns using paper.

We first stuck the white paper to represent the cross. Then we drew some raisins on the paper. Finally we stuck the buns on pink card.
