Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

What is precious to me?

It has been a very exciting week in Reception!

We have been learning about the celebration of  'Birthdays' and have been learning how to write cards.

During Religious Education we have also been talking about something that is precious and special to us. We all sat in a circle and imagined that we were holding something that was special and precious in our hands and shared what it felt like with the class.

We then read the story of Jesus welcoming the children.

We also discussed how all children are special and precious to God.

We then created our own unique hand prints.

Would you like to see them?

"My daddy special."
"My aeroplane is special because my parents buy it from the shop"
"I want purple because I like that colour."
"Sorina is special to me because she is my bestie."
"My mummy is special to me because she gives me hugs."
"I like gold because it is shiny. I would like to use gold to make my handprint."
"All my toys are precious."
"My brother is special because he makes funny things for me."

Who or what is special to you?
