Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

YEAH... We love pancakes!

Well what a fluffy week it has been! Our first week back after half term and we had the chance to eat pancakes (well after learning the importance of them during Lent).

This week in R.E. we have been learning about the Easter story and why we eat pancakes on Shrove Tuesday (also known as Pancake day)

"The shape of a pancake is a circle."

We spoke about why we have Lent and also discussed things we would give up such as having a little bit of chocolate and not playing with our toys all the time!

"They are so soft and fluffy."

"6 pancakes for 6 children."

We then shared our own experiences of making/eating pancakes after learning the key 3 ingredients for pancakes: flour, eggs and milk. We discussed all the delicious toppings we have had on our own pancakes!

"The best part of a pancake is eating all the toppings on top!"

"Thumbs up they taste so good!"

After we finished our scrumptious pancakes, we ended the day by saying a prayer to thank God for all the lovely things he has given us.

What do you like on your pancakes?
