Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Painting Planets!

What a sticky week we have had!

We have learnt that glue mixed with water and put onto newspaper strips makes paper mache... which hardens when it dries! How fascinating!

As part of our learning of Space, we took a journey into our solar system... yes we actually got to hold each planet - well we paper mached each planet first.

"My fingers are turning blue!"
"It feels so sticky."

After our hands got really sticky with the glue, we had to let it dry which took ages...

We were then able to paint each paper mache balloon.

"The newspaper is hiding."
"Look at the funny colour we made."

Can you guess which planets we painted?

"Mars is a chocolate bar."
