Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Fire! Fire!

This week has been very exciting as we have had a visit from our local firefighters.

We explored the fire engine, learnt about what to do in case of a fire, tried on helmets and covered our ears as the sirens sounded with blue lights flashing.

Our local Firefighters visited us and showed us all of the equipment that they use and keep on their truck.

We tried on the helmet, they were heavy on our heads.

What other clothing might a firefighter need to wear?

Sometimes they need to use torches to help them see.

'Look I've turned it on!'

We got onto the fire engine and sat where the fire fighters sit when they are driving to an emergency.

Can you remember how many fire fighters could sit in the fire engine?

The fire engine flashed it's blue lights.

The siren was very loud!

What sound does a fire engine make?

We thanked the fire fighters for visiting us.

We really enjoyed learning about what fire fighters do.
