An Array of Maths...

We have been proving our multiplication facts by making arrays.
An array is a useful way to prove a multiplication fact or to help you work out a multiplication fact.
An array is a rectangular pattern of counters, dots or crosses. The array above shows 11 lots of 6 or 11 x 6.
We played a game where we challenged each other to make accurate arrays for six-times tables facts.
We can then use our array to draw one of our own.
This is a different way of using the counters - there are six counters in each stack - this shows 4 lots of 6 or 4x6.
What other ways can you think of to support your learning of multiplication facts?
