Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

It's just an illusion...

This week Year 4 have been exploring how we see things.

We created our own optical artwork on Terrific Thursday.

We investigated the colour spectrum with prisms and light. When a light is shone through a prism the white light is split into the seven colours of the spectrum. Can you remember what they are? (Clue: ROY G BIV)

We tried creating colour spinners so that we could blend the spectrum together to create white.

Finally, this week, we tried animation by creating our own thaumotropes: here's how...

One side has the animal, one side has its home.

Spin the straw between your hands and the animal should appear in the cage or bowl.

Give it a try yourself!
