Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Sporty Week

This week there have been lots of sporty activities, including sports day.

Didn't the children do a fabulous job during sports day? Thank you to all the parents who came to support us. The children thoroughly enjoyed the morning. Children were eager to take part in the races, as well as field activities - even those that we find a little tricker, like skipping.

To extend our sports day, we were fortunate enough to have a taster session of fencing. Many of us did not know what this involved and were surprised when we found out that we were allowed to 'fight' each other.

We learnt how to stand and move when fighting, how to great each other before fighting and how to say thank you afterwards. We tried to score points by jabbing each other in the chest with the sword. The children were aware that these were practise swords that couldn't hurt anybody.  A fantastic time was had by all. Lots of us are interested in taking this up as a hobby.
