Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Year 1 get technical with the tablets!

Year 1 used the tablets for the first time today and we were very impressed!

We started off with some safety points on how we should safely carry and use the tablets which we did brilliantly.  We listened to and followed step by step instructions on how to turn them on, how to login using the keyboard and how to open up a program.  We were extremely excited when the tablets logged in and cheered as they logged in one by one!

We then used the tablets to create an image of Augustus the tiger who is a character in our book 'Augustus and his Smile.'  We used the program Clicker Paint to create our images.  Once we had finished, we had some free time to explore the program and using the tablet.

Here are some of our Augustus images!

Wow Merlins, I was most impressed with your computing skills. You were all very patient waiting for the tablets to load but it was well worth the wait. Watching your interpretations of Augustus the Tiger immerge was a real pleasure. You captured him perfectly. Obviously, the real skill was the lengthy saving process....just one mistake, sorry Poppy, but you did use your skills to master another Augustus!! Can't wait for our next session! Enjoy the sunshine this weekend. Slip, slap, slop!!! Mrs Rushen xx
