Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Chinese New Year!

This week the children have enjoyed learning about Chinese New Year. They have looked at a story about why each year was named by a different animal. These create the chinese signs of the zodiac. Here are some questions you can ask your child:-

Can you list three animals that were in the race?

Why did the race take place?

Do you agree with the winner of the race? Was it fair?

Suppose you were the Emperor, what would you have done differently?

They have had the opportunity to develop their fine motor skills by using chop sticks and have enjoyed making chinese fans and dragon.

We have learnt how to move to the beat and created our own dragon dance.
