Wonderful Wagtails' and Gorgeous Goldcrests walk to Gravesend Library
Monday 22nd May 2017
Reception were extremely excited to visit their local library and learn about the services it had on offer for children as well as adults. The children were particularly excited to share books with their friends as well as their parents! A range of books were chosen including stories about fairies, animals as well as books related to our classroom topic 'Minibeasts'! Reception enjoyed listening to a story by the librarian, whose name was Nicola. The children found it funny whilst trying to pronounce the word as they got tongue tied! All the children were keen to share their own reading experiences with their friends. The classes were impeccably behaved and a credit to the school during their school trip! Well done!
A heartfelt thank you to all of the amazing parents who gave up their valuable time to walk their child and the class to the library.
The children loved signing out their books using their new library card and learnt that they could take out up to 30 books on their card and enjoy them for 3 weeks. The children were informed that the books needed to be returned before Monday 12th June 2017 other wise they would have a 2 pence fine to pay per book!
