Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Year 5 Gardening

Year 5 are racing to grow their Christmas dinner.

All the classes have been given a class area to grow plants and vegetables.

So far we have planted cabbages, brussel sprouts, radishes, garlic, shallots and some flowering bulbs.

This week we have been weeding our area. We saw that the onions are starting to sprout.

Watch this space, we are hoping that our vegetables will have grown enough for us to eat them as part of our Christmas dinner.

They are only little seedlings at the moment but with the right conditions they can grow really well.

Do you know what a plant needs to grow?
