We are artists!
This week has been another action-packed week for Kingfishers and Nightingales. During our maths lessons we have worked super hard to become masters of the column method. We used our dienes to help us explore how we can add 2-digit numbers together.
Can you remember what we need to add first?
In English this week our excitement began to build as we wrote our very own poetry inspired by the poem “Beautifully different, wonderfully the same”. We enjoyed discussing what makes us unique as well as what makes us wonderfully the same.
“ We are wonderfully the same because we have the same beating heart.” Ben
“ We are beautifully different because we are all unique and special . ” Mila
“ We are wonderfully the same because we all share joy and happiness.” Abraham
Alongside our English and Maths lessons we have been continuing to work hard in our art lessons. In art this term we have been on a journey to explore how we, as artists, can use different types of lines to create texture and tone in our drawings.
How many different types of lines can you remember?
This week we discovered that artists can use lots of different lines to create their very own patterns. These patterns are called Zentangles. We concentrated extremely hard to create our very own Zentangles. Take a look at some of our beautiful creations.
