African masks...

We looked carefully at the shapes, patterns and colours in African masks.
Then we tried to draw our own.
The first stage was to follow step by step models and create our first draft.
We started with the outside shape and add eyes.
Next we added a mouth.
Finally, a nose and patterns.
In the next lesson, we re-visited our pictures and decided how we would like to improve our work.
This time we worked on paper and added colour too.
Some of our finished work is now part of an art gallery outside our classroom.
Perhaps we have inspired you to create your own...
