Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Our home learning journey...

What a busy last two weeks we have all had!

We haven't been going to school and we all miss our friends and teachers, but we are happy to know that they are all safe and happy.

We are also happy to see our friends during the live sessions that we have with our teachers.

We have been doing lots of learning whilst we have been at home!

Would you like to see it?

In Literacy, we have been reading the book 'Aliens Love Underpants'. We are really enjoying this book! We have learnt about rhyming words and adjectives (Yes adjectives!). It means, describing words.
In phonics, we have also learnt lots of new sounds that have helped us write different and new words.
In Maths, We have been learning about 3D shapes and the number 6. We found lots of different 3D shapes in our homes and made different models out of them. We also decorated the number 6 using materials we have at home and found 6 objects inside the house or in our gardens.
Did you know you can't show 6 fingers on one hand?
We have been learning about the topic of 'Space'. We have done lots of different activities that link to our topic. We have made aliens using playdough, aliens in a spaceship using materials from home, made astronauts using foil and also learnt some facts about the sun.
Did you know that the sun is s star?
In Religious Education, we have also learnt about why it is important to take God's name with care. We spoke about using each others names with care too and then decorated our name in lots of different ways.

We would like to thank all the adults for supporting the children with their learning at home. We appreciate everything you do.
