Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Fashion Experimentation

Heading into our own fashion designs, we explored that there’s more to it than just sewing…

On Thursday, Year 6 explored several different ways to attach fabric to bin liners, as the classes would be designing fashion around these types of materials.

Pupils also explored how effective each way was and decided which would be the strongest for their designs. Students tried gluing it, sewing, staples and even string through holes to keep it together.

Pupils concluded that sewing was the strongest, but definitely the most difficult to accomplish.

For next week, we’ll be exploring this question: What does a person’s clothes say about them?

  • The school’s Christian values of love, honesty and respect are well expressed through its caring atmosphere. This impacts positively on the strong sense of belonging and supporting relationships evident across the school.
