Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

St Johns Gospel

We have been reading the first few verses of St Johns Gospel and trying to understand what it meant.

"In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. He was with God in the beginning. Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made. In him was life, and that life was the light of all mankind. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness has not overcome."

We tried many ways to understand it by looking at the most important words.  Listening to a song.

Why not listen to it at home?

The most important words for us were "God, Light, and darkness".

We discovered that it is very different to The Gospels of St Mathew and St Luke which start with parts of the Nativity story.

We then designed our own Christmas cards to represent St John's Gospel.
