Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Fairtrade Fortnight!

Welcome to Term 4!

We have kicked off the term by investigating what is meant by Fair Trade and how we as consumers can impact change for those people affected. We were shocked to discover that many people in developing countries are not paid a living wage for the goods they produce. We discovered that by purchasing Fair Trade items we can help ensure that these poorer communities receive more money for their goods.

We learnt that all Fair Trade product carry a special logo so that everyone can identify them.We decided to make posters to share our concerns, spread awareness of the logo and promote the buying of Fair Trade products. This links to our Planet Preservers topic this term.
