Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Learning through play

This week we have been making patterns and focusing on the number two. Making rocket fruit kebabs and talking about fireworks as well as taking our learning into our play.

Our outdoor shop is very popular and the children can be heard using lots of mathematical language.
"How much?"
"£5 please"
The shop can be very expensive!
Learning to make patterns using items we are playing with.
Can you find items at home to make a repeating pattern?
Perhaps you could use pencils and lego.
We worked together to build a bridge to climb over.
We helped each other to keep safe by holding hands.
We decided to change our bridge so that we could go under it.
What do you build at home?
It was lots of fun climbing under our bridge.
We had to take turns so that it didn't fall down.
"Are you next?"
We made fruit rockets. We carefully pushed the fruit onto the stick.
There was some fruit that we hadn't tried before.
