Art Competition in Memory of Tony Larkin

KS2 children across Holy Trinity have worked on 'My favourite place in Gravesend' this term, to contribute work to a competition and exhibition that was on show as part of the Riverside Festival last weekend.
We looked at photos of Gravesend 'Then and Now' and talked about how some buildings have changed - or not!
Do you recognise these familiar buildings?
We also drew from memory places that we know well.
The artists who judged the work commented on how detailed so much of the Holy Trinity art was, and how impressed they were by our observation skills. Choosing a winner was nigh impossible, so they have given us as a school the wining cup!
They are also looking into sponsoring an artist in residence to work at our school in the new Academic Year.
Well done to everyone who entered! We will celebrate these wonderful works of art as a display during Parent Consultations next Thursday. Please come and see your work on the wall.
Gravesham Arts have a lot on over the summer - check out their activities here: http://graveshamarts.co.uk/
