Laughing all the way to Woodville Halls this summer?

Years 4 and 5 were lucky enough to have Lauren from the Woodville come and do some clowning workshops. This might not, at first, sound very educational.....but she began by discussing Mr Bean, who makes comedy out of of showing all his failings very publicly. Then she got us to warm up by making silly noises and movements and then to play a game called Zip, Zap, Bong which made us really pay attention to each other. When we made mistakes, we could see how each of us made clowning gestures and noises.
This hour of fun also got us laughing, cooperating and concentrating - all on a very hot afternoon. A great way to change the way we learn, and to get us to find out different talents we all have. Also, it was practice in being okay with making mistakes - and of laughing along with each other, not AT each other.
The Woodville run workshops for young people in the summer, including a week long summer camp. If you are interested, you can find out more at https://www.woodville.co.uk/events/woodville-summer-school
