Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Perilous Plastic...

This week we have been researching persuasive writing.

During our English sessions this week we have been watching documentaries, TED talks and other styles of persuasive presentations. This is one of our favourites because it has some excellent persuasive language and has real life images.  Why not watch it and see if you are affected by its message?

On Friday we wrote the opening to our presentation as a whole class, using lots of the techniques we have learnt this week.

"Do you know plastic can be deadly?  Scientists have discovered that plastic is bad for our wild life and oceans. The more we inject this awful, deadly plastic into our world, the more our world becomes a smelly, messy, disgusting rubbish dump.

Did you know that over 1 million plastic bags are invading the seas every year?  The turtles mistake these toxic, undulating monstrosities for delicious, perfect jellyfish." - Skylarks

Why not pop back next week to see our finished presentations?
