Fizzing Sherbet

Our science topic this term is 'Brilliant Bubbles' and this week, we made sherbet! The ingredients were easy to find: icing sugar (for the sweetness), citric acid (for the tang) and bicarbonate of soda (for the fizz). In groups, children decided what combinations of the ingredients they needed to make the best sherbet!
The children had the opportunity to taste test their concoctions and decide what they needed to add to their recipe to improve their sherbet!!
Some tasted better than others!! Next, we had a blind judging session with three main criteria: which out of the six samples, was the sweetest, the tangiest and the fizziest? We drew bar graphs, showing our results. What a fizzling time we had!!
