Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Dress up - Greek Style!

To kick start our topic we had great fun dressing up as Ancient Greeks on Tuesday. Our teachers were impressed with our inventive costumes.

Throughout the day we used our costumes to invent and tell imaginative stories. We used a range of props to help assist our story telling and add even more drama!

We also listened to a couple of traditional Greek myths - more of which we will read as the term goes on.

In the afternoon, we had great fun exploring how Ancient Greeks even told stories on pots and vases! We looked at different examples and tried to work out what might be happening in the stories they were portraying. We also discussed the shape of the pots and tried to replicate these shapes when making our own pots.

Next week, we will be painting these using inspiration from a traditional story that we know. We have already begun to think about which story we might choose and started drawing our design on paper. Come back next week and see how our pots turn out - amazing we bet!
