Holy Trinity CE Primary School

Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

That will leave a taste in your mouth...

This term our topic is 'We are What We Eat'.

To start this topic, we shared what we already knew about food. Lots of us knew about different food groups including balanced diets.

From a video we learnt about how our taste buds work. During the lesson, we were tasting foods and sorting them in to five categories: sweet, salty, bitter, sour and umami. You should have seen some of our faces when we tasted marmite and coffee (don't worry, it was decaf).  It was nice to finish our tasting session on a sweet food.

After tasting the foods and sorting them, we researched synonyms we could use when describing each food taste.
