Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

News Just In!

This week we have been working hard to produce, rehearse and film our news reports. Our reports were based on the flood, in our book, that cause Pattan to leave his pasture.

First we explored news reports and made lots of flood vocabulary and sentence starters that reporters use. Our favourite ones were; "weather reports predict... Locals say...Havoc and Catastrophic".

We have used our English sessions to implement this ambitious vocabulary and structure our coverage of the flood. To add quotes to our reports we generated question and interviewed Pattan (who was really our teacher but we have good imaginations!)

Once we had our final drafts, we took to the 'studio' to record the news bulletin.

We sat in front of a green screen, which we turned into the news studio background using an IPad app.

We couldn't believe how wonderful and professional we looked as news reporters.

Brilliant reporting. I thought I was watching the real news. Very professional.

This is fantastic. Sam looks like a real newsreader.
