Sun, Sea and Sand!

This week, to finish our topic learning, gorgeous Goldcrests and wonderful Wagtails have been on a very special trip to Margate beach! We were so excited to see the golden sand and the calm, blue sea in real life. We made sure we packed our hats, sun cream, buckets and spades and set off to the beach. It was a long drive to the beach but we sung lots of songs and played lots of games to help the time go super fast.
When we arrived at the beach we couldn't contain our excitement any longer, we ran onto the sand and tried to find the perfect spot. We laid out all of our towels and had a huge picnic together to give us lots of energy to build showstopping sandcastles and dig massive holes.
After lunch our teachers brought us a huge surprise - ICE-CREAM! There was no better way to cool down than a delicious ice-cream. Some of us got in a bit of a mess as they melted very quickly in the summer sun.
After refuelling we began to play and explore in the sand. We used our buckets and spades to build some fantastic sandcastles.
We even buried Miss Khalid and Miss Hamilton in the sand!
We really enjoyed playing beach ball with our friends, running was much harder on the sand than it is on our school playground.
After a fun filled day it was time to head home. We were all very tried (some of us even slept on the coach!) from our adventures but couldn't wait to tell our special adults all about what we got up to.We had an amazing day on the beach and made lots of memories with our friends. We hope we can visit the beach again soon!
