Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Campfires Burning

This week Reception have been learning all about winter.

We've done so many exciting things and even seen some real snow (it was very freezing!). So we thought better way to warm up than by having our very own campfire!!

We put on our winter coats and watched eagerly as the fire was lit we needed wood, coal and cotton wool (who knew that you needed cotton wool to make a fire!). The fire was very hot but it kept us nice and warm!

During our campfire we stood in a big circle and got to sing some campfire songs, we tried to sing very loudly so that all our special adults could hear our amazing voices!

After all that singing we were very thirsty so we used our campfire to make some hot chocolate (yes you read that right we made our hot chocolate on our campfire), it was delicious. We even got some marshmallows to melt in our hot chocolate!
