Learning and caring together, building a firm foundation for the future

Bang, crash, pop!

It has been an amazing week in Reception! It was lovely to see all our friends and teachers again and find out about all the exciting things they got up to in their holidays.

Our learning this week has been all about New Year celebrations. We made our own New Years wishes and wrote them on stars. We also watched the London fireworks (they were so loud and colourful!) and made the sounds that we could hear using our voices: Bang, Crash, Zoom, crackle, weeeee and pop.

We then used various musical instruments to explore the sounds that the fireworks made (it was very noisy!). We then created our own firework display using our instruments (it sounded just like real fireworks!!), some of us even went outside to explore what a firework might sound like! We were amazed at the echo the sounds made.
